Piano Recital Reminders

Our recital rehearsal is tomorrow: Friday, April 11th from 3:15-5pm at the United Methodist Church in Le Sueur

     Please note that we have the usual "after school" timeframe even though LSH schools have early release! The rehearsal is also our final Performance Club gathering of the school year. As always, snacks are provided from 3:15-4pm and then we will run through the recital in the program order. 

     Please make every effort to have your musician at the rehearsal, especially if they are first-time performers or have not been able to attend previous months' Performance Clubs.  It is very helpful for keeping performance jitters to a minimum of the performer is familiar with the space and recital instrument. This is even more important if your at-home practice instrument is a digital piano or keyboard. Playing on a grand piano is a different experience! Most notably the music rack is much higher, but also the touch can be very different if you don't have fully weighted keys on your practice instrument.

The recital is Sunday, April 13th at 4pm at the United Methodist Church in Le Sueur

     The church will be open by 3:30 for warmup on various practice instruments in the building. All reception refreshments are provided by the studio and we look forward to celebrating with you after the recital!      Please make every possible effort to remain for the entire recital. It's just common courtesy to listen to all performers and not only your own musician. I know there are some families with multiple obligations that afternoon who will arrive late or leave early to try to accomplish all the things, and I greatly appreciate this effort to juggle activities! Whenever possible, though, please give us an hour of your afternoon to appreciate the full range of skills, abilities and music all the musicians are bringing to the recital event. It is important for your musician to hear others play!

Post-Recital Break: Monday students will have lesson on April 14th and then the studio will be on post-recital/Easter break from April 15-21st. Lessons resume Tuesday April 22nd and run through Thursday, May 8th.

Our End of Year Party will be Friday, May 9th from 3:15-5pm in the backyard of our home. Again, this is an early out day for LSH but we will keep our usual "after school" hours so that all musicians from all schools can attend.
